Having just subscribed and read your first entry for the Omission Index, and being a voracious reader myself, I have some things to say here. I don't want to dismiss your experience carelessly since I'm a native English speaker but you are an excellent writer. Linguistically I see that precision you're talking about in your last few pieces. It's likely because your second language is not carelessly deployed, but precisely chosen word by word. I really enjoyed chapter 1, pt 1 the other day and it was an easy read too.

I don't say this lightly at all. Having just been introduced to your writing then seeing this post (again, very well written and clearly communicated) I felt I had to comment something.

Thanks for writing.

Really appreciate the vote of confidence, Finn!

Lately I have been trying to figure out how I see myself as I navigate my two cultures, and that colored my perspective here when it comes to how seeing strong prose sometimes makes me feel in relation to my own writing. Thanks for reading!

I can imagine. I myself am learning italian at 30 since I've never attempted to learn a language. At my level, it's hard to fathom writing in a second language. Props to you
